Unwell cyclist discovered at roadside, Exeter

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw a male cyclist prior to him being found on the roadside in Stoke Woods, Exeter, on the afternoon of Friday 4 December.

A 54-year-old man was found to be seriously unwell, having suffered a suspected heart attack, alongside his bicycle on Pennsylvania Road, between Exeter and Stoke Canon, at around 1.15pm. He was resuscitated by ambulance paramedics at the scene and was taken to hospital where he remains.

The road was closed for around four hours while officers carried out enquiries into the circumstances of how the man came to be there.

Anyone who may have seen a male on an orange Cannondale bicycle on this road, or who may have dashcam footage of him, is asked to contact police on 101 or via email 101@dc.police.uk quoting log number 427, 4/12/20.
